How the Mandir Began in 1865
Shri Girdharilalji Beswal · Mukundgarh, Rajasthan (1865)
The sacred foundation of Shree Devi Mata Mandir at Bhadunda Khurd, Jhunjhunu, dates back to 1865 (Vikram Samvat 1922). Shri Girdharilalji Beswal, a revered resident of Mukundgarh in the historic Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, was blessed with a divine vision in a dream in which Devi Maa ordained the sacred excavation at this sanctified site.
Guided by profound faith and devotion, Shri Girdharilalji Beswal initiated excavation at the exact location revealed in the vision. The ancient, consecrated stone swaroop of Devi Maa was discovered intact and reverently installed. He then commenced construction with a small sanctum measuring approximately three feet in height, laying the spiritual cornerstone of the temple.
Over the course of more than 160 years, the sacred flame and daily seva have been preserved with unwavering reverence by successive generations of the Beswal family and the local community. What began as a modest three-foot shrine has blossomed into a cherished pilgrimage site where thousands of devotees gather to seek blessings of peace, health, and prosperity.
The sanctum sanctorum enshrines the radiant alankrit swaroop of Devi Maa adorned in vibrant sindoori poshak, sacred gold and silver ornaments, and fragrant marigold garlands. In front of the presiding deity rests the sacred silver Simha (tiger vahana), signifying divine strength, maternal protection, and the spiritual triumph of righteousness.
